Here are past news stories from FarmVille Stats:

Update (3/5/2010):

FarmVille is trying to spend a little luck o' the Irish for Saint Patrick's Day!
They're doing this with the Pot of Gold event. This works exactly like the Valentine's event they did a few weeks ago. After placing a Pot of Gold on your farm you can request pieces of gold from your neighbors. Fill your pot with gold and you can buy special items!
Zynga has only released the first three reward items; the others will be coming sometime during the month of March. The three rewards that you can currently get from the Pot of Gold are:
Shamrock Sheep - requires 50 gold
Spring Flower Cart - requires 75 gold
Leprechaun Gnome - requires 100 gold
Take a look at all of the new St. Patrick's Day items!

Update (2/26/2010):
 |
Just a very tiny update today - FarmVille has added a few new items to the California theme, and they've also added a new promotion - Yellowstone.
|
Update (2/24/2010):
 |
There's a new them in FarmVille - the California theme, with new crops and animals! They've also added some new items to help celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Zynga has also released a new Mystery Box, with a few new items:
If you didn't get a chance to get your Hot Rod Tractor, you have another chance - the promotion has been extended for a full month! I highly recommend getting this item if you can.
Meanwhile, here at FarmVille Stats, we made some tweaks to the various comparison tools. Most notably, you can now hide outdated crops (such as Superberries or White Corn) from the Crop Comparison Tool.
|
Update (2/19/2010):
 |
You can now expand your chicken coop in FarmVille! The Chicken Coop will now expand into the Big Coop, which will hold 40 chickens. The Big Coop will expand into the Huge Coop, which holds a whopping 60 chickens!
Zynga has adjusted the amount of experience needed for some levels in FarmVille. The next time you log in, you may find you've gained a level or two! Click here to see the experience required for each level.
You can now paint your Horse Stable different colors. Paint cans cost 5 farm cash each, and are available in White, Green, Blue, Pink, and Red.
FarmVille has also added some new Mardi Gras items, and a brand-new set of promotional items to celebrate the Winter Olympics
|
Update (2/12/2010):
 |
FarmVille has released new items for both Chinese New Year and Mardi Gras!
The Chinese New Year promotion has several new decorations as well as two new animals.
The Mardi Gras promotion consists of four decorations. Only one of these requires farm cash; the other three can be purchased with coins.
There's also a third new promotion (President's Day) which is not mentioned yet in the game. This promotion contains a single item - Mount Duckmore.
Meanwhile Valentines Day is not being put on the back burner by the folks at Zynga. A few new Valentine-themed items have been added to the game.
|
Update (2/10/2010):
 |
FarmVille has released a few more Valentine-themed items.
Possibly the most exciting of these is the Unwither Ring. With the Unwither Ring, their crops will NEVER wither again!
The Unwither Ring costs 250 farm cash, and can only be sent - you can't buy it for yourself! When you choose to buy an
Unwither Ring, you get to customize it by choosing the metal (gold or platinum) and the gemstone (diamond, pink diamond,
sapphire, ruby, or no gem). You can also add a personal message.
Here are the different ring combinations:
The Unwither Ring can be purchased at any time up until Valentine's Day, but they can't open it until February 14th!

There's a new Mystery Box with several new items:

You can now put your Referee Cow inside your Dairy Farm! Unfortunately it doesn't yield a Referee Calf - instead, you have a chance of getting a plain white Calf.

Update (2/8/2010):

Valentine's Day has come to FarmVille!
During this promotion, each farmer will receive a Valentines Box. This box can be used to hold Valentines from your friends, much like the Christmas Tree held presents during the Winter Holiday promotion. If you feel particularly unloved you can buy valentines for farm cash.
They've also released several more Valentine-themed items.
There are seven love levels you can achieve. Their names (and the number of valentines required) are:
- Clammy (0)
- Lukewarm (10)
- Smoldering (25)
- Smokin' (50)
- Uncontrollable (75)
- Hot Lava (100)
- En Fuego (150)
You can redeem hearts in your Valentines Box for different items (listed below):

Update (2/4/2010):
 |
Note: This feature was never actually released.
FarmVille will be introducing several Super Bowl specific items this weekend!
As you can see from the picture to the left, there will be a new crop... Nachos. I know, nachos aren't REALLY a crop, but I think we've all wished they were at some point in our lives. In any event it's a limited-time crop with no mastery, but it does have a special use.
Nachos produce a Nachos Plate, in much the same way as flowers produce perfect bouquets. Nachos can be stored in a Tailgate Party building (capacity 30).
What's the point of storing nachos you say? Other than that cheesy-beany-sour-creamy goodness of all things nacho, there will also be three limited-time ribbons that rely mostly on nachos. The limited-time achievements are:
Each of these ribbons rewards a special trophy if you get the blue ribbon.

Update (2/3/2010):

The Horse Stable is now live! It holds a variety of breeds of horses.
Yes, you heard me right - a variety of breeds. There are now five different types of horses in the data files:
Horse, Clydesdale, Pinto Horse, Gray Horse, and Horse Spectator.
It looks like the stable will be expandable based on materials you gather - it requires 10 each of bricks, harnesses, horseshoes, nails, and wooden boards. In the future it should come in different varieties, themes, and colors.

Zynga has introduced their Valentine's Day promotion, which has three unique flowers and two unique animals.
|
 |
There's a new Mystery Box, which contains several new items, including:
|
 |
There's a new lost animal roaming around FarmVille, at least leading up to the Super Bowl. The Referee Cow has a 100% chance of showing up as a lost animal during the next few days, and cannot be placed in a dairy barn (and therefore no referee calves, sorry!). |
 |
With the addition of the Pink Patch Cow for Valentine's Day, it's inevitable that some romance will take place in your dairy barns to produce a new Pink Patch Calf. |
 |
FarmVille has introduced two new consumables to the data files, and rebranded another consumable. The Unwither Potion has been renamed to Revive Dead Crops and has a new image associated with it.
The two new consumables are Double Avatar Speed and Double Avatar Size. The Double Speed works like the Energy Biscuit, but only lasts for one hour rather than one day.

Update (1/28/2010):
More new items for FarmVille!

There's a new animal building coming down the pipe. The Horse Stable holds a variety of breeds of horses.

 |
FarmVille has also rolled out some new additions to The Big Game. In addition to the Horse Spectator I mentioned before, we also have two varieties of chicken cheerleaders. |
 |
A new limited-time promotional decoration has been introduced - please welcome the groundhog to the FarmVille family! Oddly enough, the groundhog is not an animal, but an interactive decoration. He can be yours for just 18 farm cash. |
Update (1/26/2010):
Zynga made the latest FarmVille update today, and there are quite a few new items. I had expected an off-week from them after their last two releases, but Zynga still keeps exciting new content coming to the table.
 |
FarmVille has released a new collectible set - the Butterfly Collection. Butterflies can be found by harvesting trees or fertilizing crops. |
 |
As a thank-you to those who signed up for email updates, Zynga had a special gift - Carrier Pigeons. This is an interactive decoration... when clicked, the pigeons will fly around their roost for a second. |
 |
In gratitude for the donations for Sweet Seeds for Haiti, Zynga had another special gifts - the Energy Biscuit. When consumed, your farmer moves around much faster than before. |
 |
There's also a new promotion, in the form of The Big Game. This salute to the upcoming Super Bowl match-up between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints features new animals and decorations. There are way too many to list here, so simply refer to the link for specific details. |
 |
New ribbon: Cunning Collector. Complete [2/25/50/100] collections to earn the [yellow/white/red/blue] ribbon. |
 |
Zynga introduces a new limited-time crop, the Super Pumpkins. These crops will be available until the end of the month, and have mastery levels associated with them. |
 |
A new Mystery Box has been released, which is filled with several new items, including:
|
Wow! That's a lot of updates! Have fun exploring some of the new stuff this week.
Update (1/26/2010):
Here's an interesting item gleaned from the data files... FarmVille will be adding a new feature for when you visit your friends. This feature is the Unwither ability, which allows you to bring a neighbor's crops back from the dead. Below is some of the text:
- Let your friends know their withered crops have come to life!
- [farmer] wants to let you know that all of your crops are no longer withered in FarmVille!
- [farmer] is spreading the news that if you let your crops wither, they are now harvestable again! [farmer] hopes their friends won't let their crops wither for a second time!
No word yet on when this will be live, but I would imagine it will be in the very near future... potentially today, possibly later this week, maybe a couple of weeks down the road.
Another new feature coming down the pipe is the To-Do List. This is a daily list of activities for you to complete in exchange for some type of (unknown) reward. Sample items on the to-do list include sending gifts, visiting friends, taking care of crops and animals, and checking the market for new items. There is a timer associated with it, so once you get your list be sure to complete the activities as quickly as possible!
Update (1/23/2010):
We'd like to introduce the Tree Comparison tool. This works exactly like the Crop and Animal Comparison tools, except this one is obviously for trees.
Update (1/21/2010):
Huge update to FarmVille!
The Mighty Plantation is now available! As a thank you to all their fans, FarmVille is offering the chance to purchase the 24x24 Land Expansion first to anybody who's a fan of the application. If you're not already a fan of the app, do so now to get the expansion! It requires 30 neighbors and costs either 500,000 coins or 60 cash.
A new promotion is in the works - the Yukon collection. This includes several new items that can be purchasable for either cash or coin, including a limited-time crop - the Forget-Me-Not.
You can now send a Mystery Gift to your friends using the gift page. It doesn't cost you a thing, and your friend will receive a random item when they open the gift. It looks like the mystery gift contains minor items, such as 20 free XP or 1 free tank of fuel, and does not count toward They of Mystery.
Update (1/20/2010):
We've added a new tool to FarmVille Stats - the Animal Comparison Tool. You can use this quick reference to find the most profitable animals based on your level, sortable a number of different ways - for example you can sort by total profit, profit by square, harvest time, and more. Check it out!
Update (1/19/2010):
Some new items in FarmVille today, and an addition to our site:
There's a new mystery box available, which promises to give some of the best items from past Mystery Boxes. It costs 16 cash, which is a return to the normal mystery box pricing scheme from the Mystery Animal Box price, which was 20 cash.
Another new cash item is the Lake, which costs 56 farm cash and takes up a 12x12 spot (or a 3x3 crop area).
The Hot Rod Tractor is now available to purchase. It plows a 3x3 area rather than the 2x2 area of the regular tractor. You can purchase it for 45,000 coins if you've got a level 10 character in Mafia Wars; you can also purchase it for 55 cash. In all honesty it doesn't take much time at all to get to level ten in Mafia Wars, so it's worth the little bit of time to avoid paying 55 cash.
We've added a new tool to FarmVille Stats - the Crop Comparison Tool. You can use this quick reference to determine the best crop to plant for your level, sortable a number of different ways - for example you can sort by XP earned per day, total profit, growth time, and more. Check it out!
Update (1/15/2010):
A lot of new things have been added to FarmVille today!
FarmVille has re-introduced their Sweet Seeds for Haiti promotion by adding a new purchasable crop: White Corn.
Also, several new collectable decorations have been added, which apparently you can find while harvesting your crops. These items show up in a new window that you can access in the same area as your ribbons.
A new promotion has come to FarmVille - several new Peace decorations are now available for cash purchase.
FarmVille is the recipient of the 2009 Crunchie award for best Facebook app, and they're celebrating by giving each farmer a new decoration - The Crunchie Award. This 1x1 decoration also gives you XP when you first put it on your farm - at least 10xp and up to 10% of what you need for the next level!
Update (01/14/2010):
Some new things on www.FarmVilleStats.com:
We've added an item details page! If you find an interesting item, you can click the name of the item to see even more details about it.
Also, we've found a couple of new items in the data that have not yet shown up in the actual game. No real details about them yet, but their function can be guessed based on their names:
Update (01/12/2010):
FarmVille has released a new Mystery Animal Box, which conains all sorts of new animals. You can see the new animals here.
Update (01/10/2010):
Here's a head's-up on some interesting stuff that will be coming soon to FarmVille:
At some point in the future, FarmVille plans on adding increased fuel capacity. You can use this to increase your fuel tank from 150 capacity to 175 or even 200.
- Capacity 175 (coin): Requires level 11, 2 neighbors, and 10000 coins.
- Capacity 175 (cash): Requires level 11 and 65 farm cash.
- Capacity 200 (coin): Requires level 15, 6 neighbors, and 10000 coins.
- Capacity 200 (cash): Requires level 27 and 65 farm cash.
There are also some new ribbons on the way:
- Hoarder: Have [8/20/50/100] items in storage.
- Baled Out: Place [5/50/100/250] hay bales.
- Gas Guzzler: Use [10/25/50/100] fuel refills.
- Need for Seed: Use the seeder to seed [200/1000/2500/10000] crops.
- Seasoned Decorator: Own [5/25/50/100] limited edition decorations.
- Cracked: Open [5/10/25/50] mystery eggs.
- Cat Lady: Brush [10/25/50/100] cats.
Update 01/08/2010:
FarmVille released some updates today, and we've changed our site to reflect some new things.
- FarmVille now allows you to expand your storage buildings so that they can hold more items.
- There is a new promotional category (which I'm calling the Rabbit promotion). Currently there is only one item in this category - The Lop-Eared Bunny.
- There are two new giftable decorations - Tall Grass and Large Woodpile. There is also a Grass Pile decoration, but it is neither giftable or buyable - most likely it is not yet in the game.
